Winter Story Time Registration

Toddler and Preschool story time registration is Jan 2 - 17.  Parents and caregivers may register over the phone or at the library.  This 9 week session starts the week of Jan. 20th.

Cookie Story Time

Join the children's librarian for a special story time.  Homemade cookies and milk/lemonade served afterward.  No sign up required. Recommended for ages 8 and under.

Session Tunes at Altoona Public Library

Join local musicians from 10 am - noon in the Community Room for a jam session! Play tunes you know and learn some you don't.  Come along just to listen or sing, too!  Here's what we'll jam:

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Our huge Friends of the Library Book Sale is here! The book sale will be held Saturday, November 22 from 9 am - 3 pm.  Come and support the library while taking home your next great read.  All proceeds go to the Friends of the Library, which support the library's programs and services, including our summer reading program.  

Trick or Treating

Stop by the library from 5 pm until we close at 6 pm for a treat!  City wide trick or treating goes from 5 pm - 7:30 pm.  Happy Halloween!

Adult Writers' Group

This writing group is an open workshop for writers to share their projects for peer critique. Participants share their short stories or pieces of longer works via google documents, read other group members' submissions prior to the meeting, and participate in a workshop on each submission.  The group meets every other Thursday at 6:30 pm. If you are interested in joining, please email or visit us at the library. 

Food for Fines

Food for Fines is November 3 - November 8!  Recieve $1 off your fine* for every nonperishable food item you bring in to the library.  Reduce your fines and give back to the community at the same time! 

*We cannot waive replacement fees, or fines from certain MORE libraries.  Check with library staff if you'd like to know how much of your fine we'll be able to waive.  We cannot accept expired food items.
