Parking Free parking is available in the library parking lot and on Division Street and Lynn Avenue.
Copier A self-service photocopier is available in the library for public use. Rates are 10 cents per copy, paid at the circulation desk.
Fax Machine Send: $2 first page, $1 each additional page.
Receive: $1 per page.
Internet Access Six computers are available for public use of the internet and word processing. Patrons are allowed up to 60 minutes of time each day. Patrons must sign and agree to abide by the established Internet policy. Children under 18 must have parental permission to use the Internet.
Wi-Fi Altoona Public Library offers free Wi-Fi for patrons.
Tours Tours for school classes and other groups are welcomed. To schedule a tour, contact the Youth Services Librarian.
Volunteers The Altoona Public Library Volunteer Services Program supplements the efforts of paid library staff to provide quality library collections, services and programs; serves as a method for area residents to become familiar with the library; and creates opportunities for individuals to feel personal satisfaction while performing a valuable service for the community. Friends of the Library The Friends of the Altoona Public Library support the library with their time, talents, and gifts. Friends activities include fundraising, volunteer work, publicity and promotions, working on the newsletter, and assisting with special events. The Friends help to sponsor library programs and supplement collection development funds. Memberships are available at the following levels:
Gift Policy Donations to the library are accepted at the discretion of the Library Board. Cash donations for memorials will be recognized with a bookplate in the front of the book. Contact the library director for more information.

Eau Claire County Library Contract Agreement Altoona Public Library participates in the Eau Claire County Library Contract Agreement which compensates libraries for use by non-residents. Currently, Altoona residents pay $2.99 per item checked out directly from the Eau Claire Public Library (10 items x $2.99 = $29.90). It adds up fast! Please remember, the city is not assessed $2.99 per item if you reserve books, videos, CDs, DVDs, and magazines through the MORE system and choose Altoona as the pick-up location. However, if you reserve items online and pick them up at the Eau Claire Library the per-item charge will still apply. Save time, save parking fees, and log onto www.more.lib.wi.us to reserve library materials and choose Altoona as the pick-up location. You may also call the library at 839-5029 for assistance in placing a reserve.Only you can help us save this money that could be used to purchase materials for the Altoona Library.
